Cristina Manole

Born to an Italian mother and a Romanian father with a deep love for the arts, I was exposed to the classics and the works of the masters since infancy which boosted in me a passion for painting at a very young age.

I began my artistic formation before my teens. As a young girl, while my parents were stationed in Peru, I studied at the German Suarez-Vertiz Academy of Art which provided a very solid classic formation. Later, in Argentina, I continued my formation with Anton Abreu Bastos a Spanish expressionist painter. After that I worked in the Rodolfo Insaurralde studio, I thanks him for his lessons on color and composition – the use of pigments and working with a limited palette.

I could describe myself as a realist painter, with an expressionist vibe, trying to portray not only what I see but my feelings towards what I am most passionate about is people, their faces and their gestures, I think that is why one of the things I love the most are portraits.
